MEDIA ADVISORY – For Immediate Release
Jerusalem, March 1, 2023 – The U.S. Office of Palestinian Affairs and the Palestinian Business Women Forum will host Women Connect: Jerusalem Bazaar from March 8-9, 2023, at the Ambassador Hotel in Jerusalem.
Seventy Palestinian women-led businesses will exhibit and sell their products, network with other business owners and entrepreneurs, and increase their direct access to local and international markets. Vendors will feature a variety of products, including handmade crafts, fashion, accessories, and gourmet food.
The Jerusalem Bazaar is part of Women Connect, a year-long program to empower women-led businesses, open doors to domestic and international markets, and build up a diverse, competitive, and independent Palestinian economy. This year we are partnering with the Palestinian Business Women Forum, important advocates for Palestinian businesswomen as leaders.
As Secretary of State Antony Blinken said, “The United States believes in creating a world in which all women and girls everywhere can contribute to and benefit from economic growth and global prosperity.” U.S. Office of Palestinian Affairs Chief George Noll said, “Promoting women’s economic empowerment is not only smart but necessary. When women have opportunities to achieve their full potential, we are all better off.”
The U.S. Office of Palestinian Affairs hosted the first women’s bazaar in 2010 with just 20 women. Our network has grown to over 140 women at all levels of business. This is the eigth annual bazaar, and the first back in person after the pandemic. The bazaar launches on March 8, International Women’s Day, a global celebration of women and girls in all their diversity. The bazaar will be at the Ambassador Hotel in Jerusalem for two days, March 8 and 9.
Doors will be open March 8 from 12:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on March 9 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
